The Instrument That Started It All… (And It’s Back)

The Instrument That Started It All… (And It’s Back)

This one’s a little special.

Years ago, I stumbled across an instrument in Asheville on my honeymoon… didn’t even really know what it was at the time. Turns out, it was part of the dulcimer family—and it ended up sending me down the path that became Inglewood Instruments.

Fast forward to now…

This is the Old Ben model from Woodrow — and for a while, it looked like they were going to discontinue it.

So I reached out… and now we’ve got a few of these in the shop.

In this video, I’ll show you:

What makes this instrument different
How it sounds compared to something like a Merlin
A quick run through some bluegrass playing
And why this design actually influenced the Cumberland

It’s got a really unique tone—cuts through a bit more, feels a little different under your hands, and honestly… it just brings me back.

We only have a small batch right now, so if you’re interested, take a look and let me know what you think.

And if you’ve got questions, just reach out. Always happy to help.
