Update #6: So Many Options

We’re back in Nick’s workshop checking on the progress of our solid-body electric dulcimer guitar, and this time we’re getting into the details.

Pickups. Pickguards. Maple and rosewood fretboards. Dulcimer or chromatic fretting. Three different colors. And apparently, a whole lot more ways to configure this thing than we originally planned. 

Nick walks us through some of the combinations we’re working on, including a more vintage-style setup with gold foil pickups and a more modern option with humbuckers.

And because you all keep asking to HEAR the thing… stick around. I plug it in at the end and play it completely clean, no pedals, no effects.

That chorus-like sound you hear? That’s coming from the coursed strings themselves.

We’re getting pretty close now, with more builds and sound demos still to come.
