"7 Nation" Duet - on a Dulcimer Guitar

"7 Nation" Duet - on a Dulcimer Guitar

A little while back, Justin went digging into the modern rock archive and pulled out one of those riffs that just refuses to die…

“Seven Nation Army.”

He first ran it through as a kind of:

“Can you even do this on a dulcimer?” experiment.

Short answer?

Oh yes.

After he worked it up, he brought it to me — and I got to learn it. The beauty of this tune is that it’s essentially one iconic riff with a few extra chords tucked in, so it comes together pretty quickly once you lock into the groove.

And once we had it under our fingers?

We had a lot of fun with it.

There’s something deeply satisfying about taking a modern rock anthem and running it through a simple, rootsy instrument like a dulcimer guitar. It shouldn’t work…

…but it absolutely does.

We might just have to add this one to the regular repertoire.

Busking version coming soon? 👀

What modern song should we dulcimer-ify next?

Thanks for watching.
