Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” | Cumberland River Dulcimer

If you’re going to take a Cumberland on the road, sooner or later somebody’s going to play “On the Road Again.”

In this case, that somebody was Justin Blanner.

Justin took his Cumberland River Dulcimer along on some summer travels, pulled it out in a few good spots, and gave the Willie Nelson classic a go along the way.

And this is exactly why the Cumberland is such a fun instrument to travel with. It’s light, easy to bring along, doesn’t need a whole production to set up, and somehow keeps finding its way into places where a song should probably happen.

Porches. Campgrounds. Roadside stops. Wherever.

Just maybe not in the lake.
