The Cumberland Hybrid: Major, Minor… Everything.
Share
Hey folks!
This one’s special.
What you’re looking at here is the first Chromatic Hybrid Cumberland we’ve sold at Inglewood Instruments. And I’m calling it “hybrid” for a couple reasons…
• It’s a chromatic dulcimer guitar — which means you get all the notes.
• It has a Player’s body (rounded sides, non-ambered clear coat top).
• But it’s paired with a Deluxe neck (bound neck, zero fret, diamond abalone inlays).
Player’s body. Deluxe neck. All the notes.
That means:
✅ Major 3 chords
✅ Minor 4 chords
✅ Chord changes you cannot do on a standard diatonic
✅ Songs like “Creep” that actually sound like they’re supposed to
Now… fair warning.
If you’re used to a diatonic dulcimer, your brain may break a little at first. 😅
You’ll have to rethink where things live.
But the payoff?
Total harmonic freedom.
In this video I:
🎵 Show the difference between chromatic and diatonic
🎵 Demonstrate major vs minor chord options
🎵 Play through a few examples (and monkey around a little)
🎵 Talk tone and feel
If you don’t see one available on the website when you check — that just means it moved quickly. Let us know if you want to see another one built.
