"Arkansas Traveler" Duet - Learn Bluegrass on a Dulcimer Guitar
Share
Believe it or not…
I don’t consider myself a “player’s player.”
Bluegrass wasn’t my home turf. I didn’t grow up steeped in it. But over the past few years, I’ve really fallen in love with the style — the rhythm, the drive, the way the melody dances over that steady pulse.
So when Justin Blanner started working with me at Inglewood Instruments, I asked him to help craft something I personally needed:
A full Bluegrass Dulcimer Video Course that would take someone from “I’ve never played bluegrass before” to confidently jamming.
“Arkansas Traveler” is one of the full modules inside that course.
And this duet?
It didn’t happen overnight.
It took:
🎻 Working through the entire module
🎵 Starting slow
⏱ Gradually increasing tempo
🎶 Practicing until the melody felt natural
Only then were we able to sit down and play it together like this.
If you’re watching and thinking, “I could never do that” — I promise you, you can.
That’s exactly why we built the course the way we did: structured, step-by-step, self-paced, and designed for real humans with real practice schedules.
If you’re ready for a new challenge on your dulcimer, this might be it.

Thanks for listening — and keep picking.
